Yo Kitties, I heard from Gizmo (@Sienne and Gabby (GA) ) that today is National Cat Day and that we all should get special treats. So make sure your beans get the message!

Hi Beans (Ella here). Gus is growing back his long coat after having been shaved (because of awful mats). I wanted to get a shot of him in his "boots" (the long hair they left on his legs) before he regrows all of his hair. He looks like a pirate!
OT: still struggling with my pneumonia. Getting ready for a new round of tests. I think the bacteria are making a comeback. But I'm ok, just not able to do all the physical activities that are my norm.

To the contrary. Gus entered his 3rd kittenhood after he was shaved (he's 11 years old). He's been dashing around even more than usual and climbs several trees every day. We think he was happy to get rid of those furry mats (he lost almost a pound of hair!).

I think the Rescue Remedy is helping a bit. I have come to the conclusion that he just doesn't like me. It is what it is. As long as I can keep him from attacking and biting I will be content. Sad, but content.

How could he not. Some cats just need a lot of time and patience to get used to their beans.

Does he have a bed that he always sleeps in? perhaps you can put an old Tshirt that you've worn in it to get him used to your scent, if he associates you with a warm, cosy, safe place his attitude towards you may change.

Oh Ella! He's gorgeous! I thought I was looking at some 'mirror fracturing'...funny how the eyes play tricks on you! Or at least me...so cute that those are his 'boots'...

Is your rowing season over?

I prefer to think of it as transitioned to winter mode. We have started strength and conditioning at the gym, erg workouts, and rowing on Saturdays on the water, when weather permits. It's just too dark to row in the mornings this time of year.

20 minutes on the erg/rower is a good start!

Gus is very handsome with his boots on!
I hope your pneumonia clears up soon. I think when you have something like Lyme, that really zaps you, it takes a while for your immune system to get back to full strength. Are you taking probiotics? With all the ABs you’ve had to take, they would probably be good for you.
