Hi, I currently feed Natures Variety Raw Rabbit & Chicken & have zero complaints, am curious though about making my own.
Where do I get a grinder? I am kind of overwhelmed thinking about it.. because I do not eat meat or cook because I am single.
I want to do this for my furbabies Baby & Sadi.

Thank you so much! I appreciate both of you replying. I need to figure out where to get the meat, supplements, etc. A lot of learning to do - but I belive it will be well worth it.

If you grind your own meat - look for chicken that doesn't have chicken broth or sodium added to enhance the flavor. Perdue chicken is grain fed and has nothing added, and Pilgrim's Pride chicken has nothing added but I don't know about the diet. This is the best option if you don't want to pay for the organic chicken.

I got my supplements from iherb.com - really good selection of stuff.

Hi Nicole-

You are one amazing fur-mom! Grinding meat would be quite a project for me; I don't think I could do it. If anyone can do it - you can.

Love the new picture of Baby. She's gorgeous.

How is Sadi doing?

The supermarket or butcher's shop are places to buy raw meat from. Look for meats that don't contain salts, preservatives, flavoring, etc. You don't want ground meat. Dr. Lisa's web site says that ground meat has bacteria mixed throughout out. So buy pieces of meat and grind it yourself.

Hare-Today.com and other online raw pet food supply places are other sources of raw meats.

Not sure where to buy supplements. I think Dr. Lisa's web site may list where to buy them. If not, try Catnutrition.org and http://feline-nutrition.org/ for sources.

Hi, everyone.. thank you soooo much for all your replies, thoughts, time & information! :YMHUG:

Thank you, Traci.... you are super sweet ;-) thank you for asking about Sadi.. she is doing good.. she started sneezing now.. which I know does not sound like good news but it is! For the last 9 years about once a year I take her in for sneezing & congestion and it goes away with antibiotics (it is really not evey year, but every few years & I had not remembered this, but the Vet looked at her history & reminded me)... well this time it was only congestion so I figured it was more serious.. but low & behold the sneezing has now presented :-D she continues her Amoxi Tabs (anitbiotic) I continue to give her l-lysine sprinkled on her food from Whole Foods & I keep the humidifer going.. I think she sounds better ;-)
