Good morning all - especially those who have ever been fooled by our felines!

Grayson had the opposite end of a "peach" AMPS this morning...

399 on the Relion Contour (405 on my Relion Ultima). I'm claiming pink! Shot 4.5. Because I've not been to the store, Grayson has been trying out his new Wellness food. Initially he gulped it down; last night he nursed it, and this morning, famished again, so gulped it. He's eating, so I'm not complaining. But some of the other wet-eating kitties looked at me like "Where's OUR food?" Will be stocking up on the FF later today.

Keep an eye on those tricksters... Hershey's been putting the word out!

Hi,
I took a look at Grayson's spreadsheet. Keep in mind that I don't feel qualified at all to give dosing advice, but I can't help but notice that he has been running high numbers for a while, ketones, fluids, hungry, etc. so I wonder if he is being under-dosed. I know he's already on a high dose and that at some point apparently he hypo'd (I couldn't find the episode) on low doses, but I'm wondering about either he needs a higher dose or maybe he needs to be evaluated for something else, like maybe a glucagonoma or pituitary problem. I'm not aware if he's already been checked for any of this and I don't think you should go up on his dose just because I suggested so, I'm just wondering why he's had such a difficult time getting regulated.

Happy April Fools Day our sweet friends!!

Baxter was wanting to play a joke on his friend, Grayson, but he is grounded from the "flat thing".
So no can do.

We do hope for good numbers for you today....No April Fool'n on that!

Glad to see Grayson having a good appetite! That is encouraging always.

Did you get more ketone strips? I think American Diabetes Wholesale has the best prices. $23/for a box of 10.

Haven't ordered the ketone strips yet, and that is where I saw them. I sure would like to find somewhere between 10 and 100! Got the feeling I'll probably use them too frequently - just like testing! :o

Grayson says, "just wait til she's gone - I'll tell you how to log on..."

Yes, the thought has been on my mind and on several posts about a week or two ago - I'm going to have him tested for Acromegaly, for insulin resistence (thanks for the info Carl!) and IAA. I'd like to either confirm or rule out all of them, so I have a better sense of HOW I need to be dealing w/ his numbers. Like I said when he was first diagnosed, I rather have something that I KNOW what it is, and can treat it, than be standing here clueless. That's also why I've been so nuts about the meter numbers... thought maybe I was just getting wonky readings that didn't reflect where he really was. So it's all part of the thought/evaluation process. I would've taken him in this past week to get started w/ some of the testing, but I had some work issues, needed to help a friend through something, and had a workshop all day yesterday, so I'm hoping to be able to speak w/ my regular vet and get started. I've also toyed with doing a "BAM" dose to see if it knocks him down to prettier numbers, then catch him on the way up, changing over to TID, and "re-booting" - dropping the dose back to 1 and starting over... but the reading on the ketone meter kinda stopped that last one.

So yes, you're absolutely right on your observation... except the part about the hypo... He's only dropped "low" (under 100) a couple of times, and never really to "hypo" numbers. When Hershey stayed with me, that was the closest I've ever come to a hypo. Guess I'm kinda lucky - I can shoot a dose and go to work or bed and not have to lose sleep - but likewise, we've hung out at IHOP - flat as a pancake - for WAY TOO LONG!

Grayson's +6 258 (WOO HOO - Yellow!!! (not even a peachy yellow - but a real yellow!)

Cupboard is re-stocked, so no more starving the troops!!! Thank goodness for that!!!

I do hope Hershey didn't give anybody else any ideas today

Sorry Grayson's numbers aren't cooperating with you. Will be anxious to hear how the tests turn out.

Hoping for good numbers for us all...

Libby (and Hershey, too!)
