Good afternoon all -

We're still at 5.5u... not quite to where we were on ProZinc, but the numbers continue to improve, despite red preshots. Tomorrow (Sunday) we go up to 6.5u Hoping to see a little more action. Was planning to do a curve today, but had a work meeting this morning. So much for the +4; +6 will be more like +6.25 but the rest should be pretty manageable. Either way, to have dropped over 150 points in <6 hours is pretty awesome!

He seems to be feeling pretty good. Left the numbers at home, as I've been shopping (%$#@!) for a cell phone & service, and stopped in at work to check in. He had a 200+ point drop today - which we haven't seen since jan/feb. So in spite of all the high preshots, I'm pleased w/ the numbers. I'm hoping as we get a little higher w/ the dose, it'll improve some more. Hoping so at least!

He's spent the day napping in the shop window, napping in the sunroom, and napping in the kitchen/dining room, interspursed with pokies and reminding me it's time to feed him. I really have to contemplate the auto feeder and the feeding box (that's right Baxter! :o ) He seems to do so much better if he eats throughout the cycle, but when I'm first starting to see movement, the last thing I want to do is jack up his numbers. So today, he only got food at the preshots (2 cans FF). I like how LIbby spreads the food out evenly throughout the day. Just don't know if he'll be satisfied... he didn't get to be the big boy he used to be by ordering a salad! :lol:

Now here's a question for the experienced Lev folks... I thought the curve would be shallower than on ProZinc. Should I be concerned about the 200 point range? Is it likely that his insulin resistance hasn't started kicking in to the Lev yet, and this is just a normal range?

No idea about the drops as lev is supposed to be gentler but I recall that Sneakers has had some drops like that at the start of the higher levels but over the last month she's really been more Mona Lisa smile than anything else.
 
With a non-acro, non-IAA kitty, when you get near your best dose the curve will be flatter - something like low 200s down to 75-90. I don't know what the "normal" curve for an acro/IAA would look like, but I also know that some of those cats are on 10+ units per shot, so maybe you have a ways to go before you start seeing "flat" curves. I would ask this question on the high dose ISG.

The Acro FB page has had some technical issues lately - most of the posts have disappeared (YIKES!). Not sure if they'll come back, but I will pose that to the folks there.

I'm telling you, I thought 6 units was alot - but there've been at least TWO cats that were on a dose as high as 104 units BID. I can't imagine!!! So yes, I'm grateful that I'm getting movement at 5.5 and 6.5 units - even if it doesn't show up blue or green. Now if I could just keep little Mr. Carb-Starved from opening the Tupperware cannisters IN THE CUPBOARDS and snacking on DOG FOOD... we'd be good!!! He's been being mischievious... I'm sure Hershey's suggestion was taken into consideration while I was out earlier...

In theory, that would be great... unfortunately, Mr. Carb Starved Dogfood Eater w/ iron stomach can't digest beef! That (and trying to rule out variables before we got the Acro/IAA dx) is the reason I stick w/ Chicken and Turkey/Giblets. I know: BOR-ING!!!

Allergic to beef :shock: ? Yikes! I guess I am lucky that Sneakers is a little hoover machine. She would eat chicken, beef, turkey, fish, milk, cheese, tuna... now she just gets the tuna and chicken plus whatever comes in FF :lol: .

What about deer meat? I'm trying to get a relative to shoot a deer for me so I can try venison for the two of us (its very lean meat). I'll buy the license and he gets to shoot the deer.
 
So sorry to hear Grayson got into the doggie food. OH grayson, bad kitty. Now behave for mommy!!!

Hope he will start to see some yellows again and maybe even a blue. Keep up the good work!!!

Yep. First time I thought it was just a fluke. Other times, as noted on my spreadsheet, I saw a pattern. What a mess it was to clean up!! So he gets bland... when he's not stealing dog food, that is! (dog food is lamb & rice - no problem digesting that... just high BGs!).

My dog Murphy had a skin condition, apparently was allergic to wheat. I changed her to Natures Recipe (?) - their venison and veggetarian varieties helped her skin clear up beautifully. I'm sure fresh venison would be even better for dog or cat!
 
I think a lot of cats have trouble with beef! I for one was shocked to see fish listed on the can of FF beef! :shock:

Hey, Grayson - Guess you need to make sure to delete my notes before your mom sees them. She's got my mom thinking I told you to eat dog food or something gross like that. Nah, man, if you're going to eat contraband, make sure it's some GOOD, like the kitty food my mom keeps on top of the freezer. It's what she used for my 'shenanigans' - still trying to find out what they are so I can do it, again, and get more kitty crack. Maybe I can google it after she goes to sleep...
