Good morning all -

After G's little stunt w/ the Kitt-N-Kaboodle last night, I wasn't sure where I'd find him this morning. Much to my surprise...

AMPS 368! WOO HOO!!! Shot .4 again, as it seems to be more effective than .2 and will see where he goes.

It appears we didn't get any snow on top of the ice that was on the porch at "last call" for the dogs, so work won't be cancelled [it's a southern thing!], I'll head in to work and will be able to pop in to check on the boy. He's not getting anywhere NEAR anyone else's food today - that's for certain!!! I'm really anxious to see how much .4 will bring him down now ...even if it's only to 154 like last night!

Have a great day all!

hi Lu-ann

Hoping Grayson has a great day on the .4!

Must be as I didn't understand one word of this!

Glad that sweet Grayson didn't skyrocket on his forbidden meal of high carb goodness. Let's see where his numbers go today! Looking forward to the updates.

Glad to hear Grayson's forbidden meal worked out of his system quickly (and good to know for future reference, too!). :-D

And I understand about the ice/snow thing in the south. Snow flakes = everything closes! Ice? Eh. Not as big of a deal. Especially on bridges. Gosh...I miss the south!

Yesterdays 154 was definitely a blip! He's back to his usual "take my time dropping" philosophy today...

Go figure! Looks like the start of another flat cycle...but I'll keep testing just to make sure.

Yes its a southern thing; icy roads you wait until late the night before to see if school and work is cancelled.
And then during hurricane season, you wait to see if anything is open if they issue a hurricane watch and open the schools up for shelters.
Looks like Grayson is back to his flat cycle, hope he doesn't tank for PMPS.

You're right about snow days Angela - but when you live 5 blocks from work, you don't get to call in for a snow day! - especially when they know you grew up in Chicagoland! :-D

...and the hurricanes.... you watch them coming for 2 weeks and then are amazed at the people running around at the last minute! Most of our hurricanes are "wind events" rather than "rain events", excepting Floyd. My big oak tree out front, and my neighbor's back yard oak both came down in Fran 1996, so I'm pretty much able to sleep through whatever comes our way now. Although last year I thought the tin roof was blowing off the porch... turned out it was my neighbor's, not mine. Oh yeah, and I live on a hill, so there was no standing water from Floyd either!

I digress...

Grayson's numbers are back to being pretty flat...despite upping the dose from .2 to .4

Think I'll be trying .5 or .6 tonight... anyone care to chime in with a thought?

Thanks,
Lu-Ann

Just my opinion, but I think you are switching around too much. I would stay with .4 for a few more cycles to see if he is a kitty that takes time to settle into a dose.

Remember that marathon, not sprint thing.

Trust me, I remember the marathons... but not like the kind you're talking about. So the range of only 72 points doesn't scream for more?

The problem is that it is just one cycle. If you change the dose every cycle based on what happened the previous cycle, soon you are all over the place in terms of numbers and doses. Once you have data on a dose for several cycles, then you can look at the numbers, looking for trends and patterns and make a decision based on what you see.

This is from the PZI document:

Any dose change may result in a period in which the body attempts to find a new equilibrium between glucose intake/production and insulin use. In other words, you may see higher numbers for a couple of days immediately following a dose increase. Give each new dose 3-4 days while your cat's body equilibrates or "settles" down.

Thanks! I'm sure I'd read that, but I was probably on overload at the time! Thank you for some fresh perspective!

Hopefully he'll start his descent soon! He sure seems to like the 300s!
