If it's the gravy you'd be giving them from hc food when they get low bgs, would canned, jarred or powdered mix people gravy work ?
It has flour and corn starch for the carbs.
Just curious in case I ever ( GOD forbid) I ever happen to be out of hc food when I need it.

Thanks. That didn't even cross my mind. I'm brain dead today.

You could always buy an extra can or two and set them to the side (I stuffed them in the bottom of the cabinet) and keep them as "emergency" emergency HC, in case you run out of your regular HC stash. I think you can also mix karo syrup with LC to make HC food.
