Our beloved Gradycat has left us this Christmas, bereft and heartbroken. After successfully getting him OTJ a couple of months ago, he suddenly began having intense pain in his mouth. We took him to the vet last Friday and they recommended a full tooth extraction as all of his teeth were in an awful state of decay and made it impossible to eat. He was admitted on Monday, the surgery was performed successfully on Christmas Eve, but somehow he contracted pneumonia. To their credit, the hospital staff did everything they could, but we got the call around 2 am this morning recommending euthanasia as there was nothing more they could do and he was not responding to medication. We gave them permission and then bawled our eyes out. I then had to go around the house collecting up all of his things which just made me feel worse, but I thought I should do it to save my wife the agony of the task later on.

I want to thank everyone that helped us with Grady's diabetes. We would have been lost without you guys, as we will now be without our gentle, loving Gradycat.

Dwayne/Ami, I'm SO SO sorry it was Grady's time to cross. BIG HUGE LOOOOOOOONG HUG - remember, he's not gone, you just have to hug him differently.

Fly free sweet GradyBaby....

Requiem aeternum, Gradycat.

{{hugs}}

Don't get rid of everything just yet; sometimes it helps to go through them and talk about how he played with things and such.

Oh no I am so so sorry to hear that. ((Hugs))
Fly free sweet baby...

Wendy

PS maybe keep the BG stuff - donate it to another diabetic cat in need?

Oh, no. I am so sorrry. Thoughts and regards to you, Grady is having fun with my April and other kits now.

This is what scares me about taking Buddy in to get his dental (way over due) at his age with asthma, C2 heart and FDB I am perplexed on what to do.

Lighting a ring of candles, in memory of your beloved Grady. Your papabean and mommabean have some wonderful memories of you.

Our Grief forum is a great place to post and pour out your grief and to share some of those wonderful memories with others who understand.

I am so very sorry for your loss at this time of year. We received a DX of oral cancer on the 23rd with poor prognosis ourselves. Our hearts and thoughts go out to you in this time of sadness.

Tony
