A fair amount of crumbs in the bowls left down last night; obvious water consumption from the bowl.

Put down the food - a mix of 2/3 Turkey and Giblet and 1/3 poultry platter, 1.5 cans worth - and Gracie wasn't interested, so she had enough to eat last night.

One of the blondies (probably Julius) crossed into the area and Gracie retreated until I shooed him out. Then I got her out and tested. She grumbles, but didn't try to bite. First test the meter gave an error, so got the remaining droplet on my fingernail, stuck in another strip quickly, and tested that to get the 331.

I went for 1.4 units again. I'll have some time today to get more tests, in between looking for the misplaced credit card! (can't shop without it, and we need more cat food!)

Re: Gracie 12/01 331

Not bad numbers, BJ, particularly if she gets anywhere near a 50% drop. So glad she will let you test.

Good luck on the credit card. Uneasy feeling…..

Re: Gracie 12/01 AMPS ~ 331, +3 ~ 226

+3 = 226
drop of 105 mg/dL in 3 hours.

I last saw said card in the car, on top of a box of stuff. I suspect it fell down deeper into the box. Problem is that there were a few such boxes in the car, so I've got to go through all of them. *sigh*

There's no evidence of anyone else using the card, so I'm not worried.

Not bad. Now I know that starting over 300, she needs a bit more than 1.4units.

She thought the Forti Flora on the food a wonderful treat for being tested.

BJ,

Very good job, hopefully she will get a little more used to being tested. Do you give them any kind of treats?
The PZI seems to be working pretty well for her.

Its ProZinc.

And I've used some Stella & Chewey's freeze dried as treat, as well as Forti Flora (if I don't see eating, I go for the latter).

Re: Gracie 12/01 AMPS~331, +3~226, +6~166

That's a nice drop. I agree -unless you get a surprise and she continues to go down for pmps - a small increase wouldn't hurt.

Re: Gracie 12/01 AMPS~331, +3~226, +6~166

We'll see what happens at +9 (mini-curving today)

And a +9 of 275, so she's coming back up.

Observed max drop of 331 - 166 = 165; she might've been a touch lower at +5, given that its ProZinc which tends towards a nadir around +5ish.

Based on the water consumption this morning (the others almost never drink, being civvies), it should be OK to give 1.4 units tonight (115 mg/dL above 50 mg/dL), then test out 1.6 units tomorrow morning, so long as I put down plenty of food. I'll ask Mike to let me feed them so I can test her pre-meal. I'll be at work tomorrow, so no mid-cycle tests during the day.

Observation, which may not be true for all cats, nor for all insulins. Dusty, who was on Lantus, had wet and dry food available and did not eat it, even though he tested at 31 mg/dL the one day I was there after 2 weeks on a given dose. I would have thought he'd be ravenous, but apparently not. I was using a One Touch Ultra that belonged to his person, Jo, to test him.

Not bad at all on the numbers!

Now if you could just quit *misplacing* things?

Hey I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached. And sometime I still do.
