Doc called today, test results show no positivity for Cushing's! :cat: She did say that because several symptoms point that way, means it could be in the very early stages. Well just have to monitor him for a while. She also said that Goof has lost some weight he didn't need to lose, so if he's hungry, feed him. Just not within 2 hours prior to test time. Yes, he may need a little more insulin, but that's ok for a while.

She also said that if he hasn't improved by the time my ProZinc runs out or goes bad, we'll try Lantus. She said we'd be starting at square one again regarding dosing, but I'm ok with that as I already know WAY more than I did starting out last time. :cat:

Hope Goof improves soon!

He's just so ravenously HUNGRY all the time. I feel so bad for him, I'm feeding him 4 times a day now and still he stands by the fridge and meows all the time. I need to update the SS again, but his numbers are still up and down. So frustrating!

Goofs numbers are so up and down all the time. He's still in a pretty good, safe range, but I don't understand how how the numbers can be so different. The food he gets is a max of 7 carbs, but usually 5. He's constantly pestering me for food. If I walk toward the kitchen at all, I have to be careful because he'll dash right in front of me, I've stumbled over him several times. And no matter how much I feed him he doesn't seem to gain any weight back.

The sore on his shoulder will not heal, I looks like it's getting better, then it opens up again. I know the diabetes has much to do with all of this, but it's still so darn frustrating.

Sorry about the starving cat thing. I have two like that. One is Colin- due to FD and Acro, the other is a pefectly healthy cat who has tripped me and broken glass objects as he flys to the kitchen everytime I head that way. Have you tried the Vetericyn on his sore? I'm sure it itches and he's scratching at it and reopening it.:bighug: I don't know what the calories are in Friskies, maybe there's a higher calorie option?

Sorry Goofus always is hungry! I think all sugar kitties stay that way because of the reduced carbs. I know that I think that I am starving if I don't get many carbs. Maybe ask the vet for some type of bandage for the shoulder thing?

I have a civvie who does this. He will also steal everybody else's food if I don't watch him. He also cleans up left-overs. He's a smallish cat but he's certainly not underweight, he's very heavy for his size but he doesn't look fat, just compact and chunky. I have no idea why he is so hungry all the time!
