great deal -- I ordered them from Chewy a couple of days ago before their $15 discount ran out, ordered on Sunday, delivered yesterday morning, which is pretty much overnight too .. Catcat should be in clover with 4 packs of 30 cans ... I too had run out a couple of days ago

Shoot, I should have checked there. I think I have a coupon too.

Been ordering Fancy Feast from Amazon for the past month now, every dollar saved helps! :D

not quite the same assortment -- both have turkey and giblets, this one has chicken feast, and tender beef feast
this is the "orange" assortment

while the "green" assortment has turkey & giblets, tender beef & chicken feast, and tender liver & chicken feast

didn't see a 24 pack of the green assortment on that website, would be great if it were the same price as the orange one

makes me wonder if they are closing out the chicken-only and beef-only pates ... of course both have other ingredients in them as well; I'd have to see them side by side to see if the ingredients are the same -- if it's just a labeling change

Thanks all for the tips, I was ordering the case of one flavor before from Amazon because I get free shipping on all orders, but these variety packs seem better deals. Looks like chewy and Amazon are price matching each other. I had a $15 chewy coupon I got in email that I forgot about, so ordered 5 cases of the $9.97 one from chewy to get the free shipping and used my coupon too. With the coupon that brought my cost per can for both orders combined to about .43 a can, so I can live with that. I now have enough food to get her through the summer.

From now on will have to watch that discount pricing closely before next order.

Just wanted to mention something on the variety packs as a PSA. Some FF variety packs are manufactured in US and some in France for distribution in US. It is hit or miss which ones you will get when ordering online.

The 30 packs I got from Amazon recently were manufactured in US.

The 24 packs I got today from Chewy (and have read online people have seen this with other online retailers such as Amazon) were manufactured in France.

Comparing labels for same flavor (turkey) from each box, the ingredients are close, but not identical. One major distinction is the French cans have turkey broth as 2nd ingredient, meaning liquid is a good portion of the can. The US can has no turkey broth. If you shake the French can it sloshes and you can hear it has a high liquid content. This means the US cans have a higher meat content for what you are getting (and paying for). I, like most of us, add water to the US version because it is dense and not watery at all.

I called Purina to ask and they said they are both manufactured in accordance with feline dietary guidelines even though composition is slightly different.

looks like I got something in between, the orange 30-can pack from Chewy -- can says Purina is the mfg with a St Louis address, but this turkey does have turkey broth as the FOURTH ingredient .. can doesn't appear to slosh

nothing on the can nor on the outer pack, says specifically "made in USA" -- do the cans or the 24-pack you got, say "made in France" ?

after buying 4 of the packs, with the $15 Chewy coupon, came out to .43/can .. then of course I did have to pay state sales tax

Not necessarily. Guar gum is used as a binder / jelling agent in FF. It is possible for two cans to have the same amount of liquid and same amount of meat and nutrition but one can has more guar gum, which makes the liquid more jelly-like and less sloshy and thus makes it "feel" like there's more meat even though much of the "extra" body is just the guar gum gelling agent.

As for guar gum, this is both good and bad. Guar gum has been tested as a dietary supplement for reducing blood sugar in Type 2 diabetes in humans and seems to have some small effect there, but guar gum also, as an insoluble fiber, can cause gastric upset and diarrhea in cats.

So anyhow, I doubt there's any real difference in nutrition between the two, just in the amount of gelling agent and the type of liquid added.

The ones made in USA will just say nestle Purina, St. Louis. The French also say this, but under address also says “product of France”

See photo of box near left side, “product of France” under address and also bottom can coding is different with FR included in coding.

I compared ingredients and there are several differences other than the added turkey broth. The French version has a different iron supplement which I am reading is less easily absorbed than the US version. French version also has vitamin C added, which cats and dogs do not need as they are able to make their own, unlike humans and may also cause stomach upset. French also has a source of iodine and choline which the US version does not have. French version has Vitamin K listed much further down the list than US version. If all listed ingredients go in order of quantity, which is normally how it is done, that may indicate French version has less Vitamin K, which is needed for blood clotting. Since we are sticking the cats, stopping bleeding more quickly is helpful.

I will try it, but would prefer the US version due to I am happier with the ingredients in the US version. It is my understanding this is just happening with some of the variety packs. Purina says it is due to them not being able to keep up with demand and that is why they are using some of their products manufactured in France. If the ingredients and product were identical, I would not care. I just don’t appreciate buying something and getting a slightly different product than I thought I was buying.

Well...

The French version was much creamier when I mixed it up, no water needed, it smelled more like turkey and she licked every bit from her bowl. There is an added emulsifier, which I think accounts for the smooth creamy consistency and the broth gives it more turkey smell.

The cat really likes it. Just hoping will not upset her tummy.

Also, FYI, I rechecked and the US version has turkey broth 4th ingredient, whereas French is 2nd ingredient.
