The first time I took his BG, it registered HI. Second time was 532. Sigh. I was hoping to get some sleep tonight.
Could be but I was trying to see why she cant go from dry to wet... i know we had a rough patch changing diet, because of Porto’s IBD mostly, but once we did, we got some better BG numbers.I think it's the opposite situation - high BG makes the cat feel like he is starving.
I agree with you. I was answering FluffBunny's question about BG causing hunger from her second post above.Could be but I was trying to see why she cant go from dry to wet... i know we had a rough patch changing diet, because of Porto’s IBD mostly, but once we did, we got some better BG numbers.
Just a suggestion.
I know canned food would be much better for Gomez. But he is 16 years old and he has eaten dry food his whole life. I have had him for only 2 years (long story,) and I feed my other cat canned FF, but Gomez simply won't eat it. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure just before his diabetes diagnosis and his prognosis is not good. He also lost 1 1/2 lbs. in just 3 weeks and is down to 8.25 lbs. I just can't afford to get into a contest of wills with him over food. I am just grateful that he is eating again. For a while, I had to supplement his meals by syringe feeding him canned food just to get enough calories into him.
Have you looked at this product line? Young Again They make a Zero Carb dry food - I use it for 'treats' for Luci - she likes to have a few tossed around and she chases them down...gobbles them up!I live in Baltimore. Any dry food suggestions you have would be most welcome.
