My old vet called me last night and I am going to be taking Sam to her from now on. She actually sounds very knowledgeble on FD. She also thinks Sam is getting to much insulin and was talking about changing him to Lantus. She says she only has one kitty on insulin right now and she tries very hard to get them off the juice. Sam goes in on Saturday for a T4 test, she wants to look at his thyroid and also a completed blood panel. She will also check his urine for any bacteria, sneaky UTI's. I am now very happy! dancing_cat

Yes, she took care of my cat Strider, who had kidney disease and even though he was on dry food she had me change him to canned. He hated it but he lived for 2 more years and he was 21 when I had him PTS. I still miss my kitty, he was the first one I had after I moved in with my DH. He was a black furry baby to us and he was a very unique personality. I compare all my cats to Strider. One time at the office when he was in getting some fluids, it was cold and he started shivering. She leaned over and warmed him with her body, which I thought was the kindest thing I ever saw a vet do. I am looking forward to seeing her again. And the back of my vet now. I am going to take all my cats to her. I think it will be a surprise to her to lose 4 cats and one dog all in one swoop. Oh and I forgot about my pony, she is also an equine vet. After seeing a botched gelding she did on her cousin's horse I vowed not to let her near any of mine.
