I'll be going for a weeks holidays soon and I was wondering if I can preload 14 syringes with an extremely low dose of lantus for my pet sitter to administer. My diabetic patient is a 12 week old Devon Rex who only gets a tiny amount of lantus, approx 0.15unit.

I feel this is too difficult for the pet/house sitter to load the syringe accurately because thr dose is so small, so I would like to preload them for her.

Is there a problem with preloading a tiny shot of lantus in 14 syringes and keeping them in the fridge for use over my holiday week?

We don't recommend pre-loading syringes

Maybe you could load one syringe with something like grape juice or coffee (some kind of dark liquid) so she'd have a "template" to compare to?
