Hi all.i do not usually home test on a regular basis. I do daily pee strips for months..for ketones and BG. She always registers about a 1% on average unless a new bottle of Lantus is starte and the numbers go down.
Today... She has registered blue or negative on the keto-diastix twice. I used another brand called Siemen's mutistix to make sure the Bayer's were not old.
This is highly unusual and has not happened since last December when she was dx with Diabetes.
I did take away her dry food for the past few days due to a constipation issue she was treated for but then started up again this week. She was prescribed Lactulose which is sugary syrup. Also Miralax to transition off the Lactulose and lots of water mixed with the wet food.
She has had a rough couple of weeks battling constipation and increased asthma attacks and increased breathing. And the pollen is not to blame entirely.
Her last Fructosamine was good a couple weeks ago. She averages the same consistently. I am going to have to call her ER hospital and report the urine strip result plus get a blood sample from her tonight before insulin then call hospital to see how many units to give her. Problem is Kitten is not a bleeder and any strss sends her spiraling into a fit and she is already in a vulnerable state. But.. It has to be done here or the tech will have to do it there. Her BPM were more than double at last exam.. I am reaching out for some thoughts. The urine samples i caught were also very concentrated. I gave her some fancyfeast with gravy incase she is too low. She just had an attack.. So i have to wait awhile until she is calm enough to get the ear prick.

Don't know what the blue value means on the urine test strips.

The higher carb food can push the numbers up too.

Blue is negative for glucose in the urine. I am going to try to get a reading on her but I just had to rescue puff her again. I am not sure what to do.

Just posted in the Lantus Tight Reg Forum. Kitten's BG read 66 tonight and her insulin was held per ER doctor where she is treated. This is crazy!!!!!!!
