Glucose meter

My mother in law gave me her acucheck glucose meter. She doesn't need it anymore as she only used it when she was ill. Is this OK to use on my cat? I'm pretty nervous to start testing him. I'm afraid he will start running from me lol. Thanks

If the meter is like this one, the only downside I see is that it requires a slightly larger drop of blood than the Relion Micro or Confirm or the AlphaTrak Pet meter. Don't know how readily available the test strips are. Or how expensive. Since you have it, it may be worth using to see how you like it. You can always get another type meter later on. Many people use human meters rather than pet meters because of the cost of the strips. The Relion meters and testing supplies are available at Walmart and are some of the cheapest available.
