I am using a TRUEresult meter that I purchased from Amazon due to great reviews/high ratings. Does anyone use this meter? Have you found it to be accurate?

To find out how many points off my meter was I took it to vet with me and we did a test with the meter after they did the blood test. My was only ten points off.

I am planning on doing that, but just wanted to know if anyone here has experience w/ this particular meter.

That meter has been discontinued in the U.S. which means that getting strips for it going forward may be an issue. It was discontinued due to inaccurate readings but this seemed to be for folks on peritoneal dialysis or those using immunoglobulin therapies containing maltose etc.. The issue was readings that were too high. The company appears to be exchanging that meter and the True2Go for their newer TrueMetrix.

There have been a lot of reports here of the TrueResult meter giving low, inaccurate readings with cats...I would use caution and possibly get a back up meter to compare it with. The Relion meters here are very popular and low cost if you're in the US. I personally like the Accu-chek a great deal, but the strips are very pricy if you buy them in the store. Having an inexpensive back up meter is never a bad thing...still have my Relion micro somewhere, just in case my meter ever suddenly dies.
