Glucometers

My glucometer (Freestyle Lite by Abbott) is reading significantly lower #'s than my veterinarians glucometer (Precision Xtra by Abbott). The number comparisons don't make any sense. Makes me wonder which one is accurate? Company says that I should be only using the AlphTrak for animals. Anyone have any thoughts?

Can you post the comparative numbers and how close the blood samples were taken. Also, if you and the vet did not use the same blod sample where was the blood sample for the vet test obtained. There is a difference between venous blood and capillary blood.

The same blood sample was used - taken from vein.
1 - Freestyle Lite = 7.9 Precision Xtra = 10.2

2 - Freestyle Lite = 9.1 Precision Xtra = 12.3
