Hi Natalie, huge apologies for late reply (my fault for not checking in here for a few days... Duh!)
There are several meters currently used by UK folks. Some use the pet meter, 'Alphatrak', but the test strips (the main cost of testing) are very pricey. You'll find info on other much cheaper (human) meters in this recent thread.
Does anyone have any experience with Code Free glucose monitor.

I think we're doubling up here... there's a thread on the Welcome forum by the same OP called"Little Man"... can't cross reference it myself but there are a few replies there too I think.
