Something is definitely wrong with my Giz and I'm thinking that maybe I'm giving him too much insulin??? He did have a blue yesterday so it could be a bounce today, but his #'s the last couple weeks have been much higher than his "normal".

Our other cat broke his leg last Sunday night (we still can't figure out how!) so Giz has been stressed about that and I thought maybe that could be the cause....but this started before that happened. I had some Zennequin here so I started him on that just in case there was an underlying infection.

He's definitely drinking and peeing more than normal and is STARVING all the time. I cannot feed him enough ever!

Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated!!

his high numbers are probably causing the excessive peeing and hunger - but the high BG cause, i don't know. you did have him on a higher dose earlier this year.

at least this will bump you up for someone with more experienced eyes.

I would spend a couple more cycles collecting data so you can see what this dose is doing. It's hard to say for sure, since the increase to 2u was done after a couple of days without many tests. The 531 jumps out at me - there is no way to know if that is a bounce or just a high number due to not enough insulin. If you can get PS tests and some spot checks, you should be able to tell fairly quickly what is going on and where the black numbers are coming from.
