Giving My Po-Kitty Comfortis/Flea Pill?!?!

Hello Everyone, I have missed u all.... Life has been so Crazy Busy these past few months, I don't have much free (PAM) time at all!!!! @-)

I hope after last week in December, I can get back on track. I am so behind on everything!!! Christmas, and trying to plan my Sweet 16 daughters Birthday party....

Ok, I went to my vet last week to get PO his insulin refill and I needed to get him a flea pill.... When I got there to pick it up, The doctor was already gone for the
day and I wanted to check and see if I could give this type/kind of flea pill to him.. He has had them before, but I don't think it was this one..

I am just paranoid, What do y'all think? They know he has Diabetes, I would hope they would not give him something that would make him sick etc.. I have heard horror
stories on cats getting very sick off of flea pills and other meds, I understand we never know what kind of side effects may occur, just wanted to see what y'all had to say..

Cats are like people - they may respond uniquely to meds ... ECID (every cat is different)

Is it just fleas that are a concern, or does Po-Kitty go outside and risk ticks too? And is heartworm preventation a consideration?

You'll want to get something that covers most of what could bite Po-Kitty.


I'm in Ohio and my cats are indoor only. I've been using Frontline Plus because the new kitties brought in fleas. It covers ticks too.
 
Hey BJ, Thanks for the response! I guess I am just concerned that this flea pill would make him sick.. I have heard other cats getting sick from a certain flea/tick/worm pill..
but could not remember what pill that was???!

And I wanted to check with everyone and see if they have ever used this flea pill (Comfortis) I am going to call my vet tomorrow, to make sure this is the same one she gave him during the summer... I am just a paranoid mommy! (0:
