I have to test and shoot copper 1hr earlier tonight and tomorrow am in order to get his shot in early. I will be gone all day tomorrow and leave early in am. Has anyone ever dosed earlier? If so, is this cosidered a dose increase and have to accout for that because i know the insulin is really not our of their system totally until 12hrs. I got off my schedule because of his surfing and now i'm messed up and don't know what to do about tomorrow am. I don't want to over dose because i will not even be here to watch him. I can leave out food, but he is just not eating like he used to and don't know if he would even care as much. I could just give a low dose tonight early and a very low dose tomorrow am and except high numbers? I hate to do that, but i'm at a loose as what to do now.

Since he is so volatile right now and throwing some unusual numbers, I think I would be cautious? The last number on your ss is headed down. So you would want to be sure he is headed up, first. Yes, an early shot can be an considered a dose increase - especially two in a row.

I would be sure he is going up, then shoot a lower dose and monitor at least a few times. You may lose some momentum but you want to keep him safe too.

That makes sense sue. I just tested him, so 45min earlier, and he is at 223. This is with a little food 1.5hr ago. Lools like he is steady. Now last night i shot a .6 on steady 200's and it didn't do much. What do you think about 1u? Is this in the ballpark?

How would you interpret today's numbers? It looks to me that 1.6 was too much so as his insulin left his body he went down? Is this right or way off?

Another thought: Maybe he just absorbs insulin slower and it takes longer to work on him?

Hard to be sure because you had that .6 thrown in there, but yes, on 1/8, it did look like too much. Maybe, after your odd early cycles, a smidgen less than 1.6 as a dose?

Like 1.4u? Do you think giving the 1u tonight will really throw him off track? Because i can give the 1.4 tonight and monitor. The only think that worries me is that he just doesn't eat that much and only about every 3 or 4hrs and only about 2oz. That is so less for him usually. I think that is why his numbers are coming in so much lower.

It lookls like now i'm only 1/2hr earlier. That would make tomorrow amps about 2hrs earlier. too early isn't it? I think i will have to see if I can rearrange tomorrow plans. Not sure i can. Oh waht a mess.

I'm sorry - things are feeling complicated. See what will work time wise and the, dose wise.

Just data, Lori. You'll get back on track.

Thanks Sue for your input. I think i will try the 1.2u tonight and just see how the amps goes when i can dose him. I think he will do ok tonight on the 1.2. ANy suggestions on how to intice him to eat more? He doesn't care about the tuna water or sprinkled parmesan cheese.
