Give units or not?

Hi All,

I am trying to decide wether or not to give Petey any insulin this morning. I am hoping that maybe, just maybe he is going into remission.

YESTERDAY - We did test every 2 hours yesterday between 8am and 8pm. The vet has us on 4 units. His numbers were: 169 (before 4 units), 158, 85, 118, 145, 240, 278.

TODAY - This morning at 8am Petey was 72. Low. We fed him and 45 minutes later he was 75. I am thinking we should skip the AM dose.

We need to leave the house now so I guess we skip the dose and test later, right? I am guessing the vet will say to at least lower the units. Could this be remission?

Apologies no one responded to your post. I am just checking in before work but glad you skipped the shot. Can't say for sure if it's remission unless that 4.0U made Pete hypo into remission, but he has earned a reduction if you're following SLGS protocol. Definitely try to grab a later test to see how he's doing on his own

Thank you! We did get ahold of the vet who confirmed that we should skip the morning dose and test before giving the PM dose.
