Kylee has been in 5 year remission. Took her to the doctor 1/31. Kitty lost weight. Doctor took lab. Asperated a lump on her head. Sending it to be biopsies. She is being checked for thyroid and kidney. she had to have a IV for to hydrate her. She was better and was eating. Doctor mentioned she had gum disease.
I am thinking her teeth are bothering her. I give her soft food. Different brands. She just looks at her food.
i don’t know what to do until I hear back from the doctor.
I am half sick with worry now.
Just needed to hear a kind word. I love her so much.

Thank you. I did try some of these all along. Right after or soon after my posted she started eating better.
I usually have two or three different foods open and mix them. And today I have two separate bowls. One is either mixed or just the pate’. One has fish/tuna for cats.
Doctor called Saturday she has stage four kidney disease. The lump biopsy showed suspicion of round cell cancer.
I should hear back from the doctor who saw her last Wednesday with a plan.
Very upsetting. But I am doing my best and we will move forward.
She has my heart and we will go through this new journey together.

Was she dehydrated when the blood was taken for the blood tests? Dehydration can make kidney numbers look worse than they really are.

Sending you some hugs and Kylee some ear scritches. :bighug:

Yes, they did the blood draw then the assistant came in and gave her an IV with fluid.
Her urination seems to have slowed down. I have two clean boxes going all the time. If they are in failure doesn’t the urine tend to be less?
My kitty before her has kidney disease, just don’t remember about all the peeing.
Kylee is eating good and seems like she is not so frail and skinny.
Thank you for your help.

With CKD, we call it chronic kidney disease, not failure, their urine is more dilute and they tend to pee more. Did they do an urinalysis on her? It would be interesting what her urine specific gravity was, though that's best tested first thing in the morning when it's more concentrated. If you haven't been there before, this is a good website: http://www.felinecrf.org/

Update on CKD. Tonight I gave her her 4th subaqueous fluids dose. Tonight she did not do so good. She was not comfortable and was squirming . I got them in.
Today the IV pole arrived so it was better hanging the bag. Wendy, joined. The group of the site you recommended. Lots and lots of info on the sight.
I have been reading and watching so many videos on the subject of our new journey.

Kitty is eating normally and is better.
I am over due to poke her for her BG check.
Good night.
