Ginny's Alex is gone

I got an email from her this morning along with some of the others from about a year ago. They had finally found a pet sitter & had gone on vacation. The pet sitter had to take Alex to the vet, he had started throwing up. He did not respond to treatment but the vet kept him alive till Ginny & DH could get their flight changed. She said he gave her a pitiful meow & she knew it was time. I was so shocked....there has been too much sadness on the board lately. I hope Ginny doesn't mind me sharing with you. She said she would be back after she had a little time to recover.

Fly free Alex & land ever so softly at the bridge.

I can't believe this. I am So Sorry to read this. My heart is breaking for Ginny and Stan.

Thanks for letting us know Barbara, I haven't been on in a few days and I am shocked reading this. I knew they were going on a trip.

Thanks everyone, for your warm thoughts and hugs.

I can't help but feel a bit guilty about being on vacation when this all transpired, but I am so, so very thankful we were able to get home to tell him good bye.

I'm sure one of the biggest fears we all face - going away and having something happen -- but anyone here, everyone here are devoted, loving pet parents and stuff happens - guilt is something that needs to be put aside - I am so sorry for your loss.
