Gingivitis

Jackson is 16 years old, OTJ eating low carb wet food. I have a toothbrush but he pretty much forbids me from using it but we do. He’s not been eating his designated portion each day and I see that his gums are trying to almost climb up his fang on the bottom. Not sure what to do, but it’s brought me here.

I'd suggest having the vet take a look. Jackson may need to have his teeth cleaned. Dental issues is one of the things that frequently throws a cat out of remission so I'd have it looked at.

I agree, get a dental done. Might just need a deep cleaning. Better to do it now than when there's big problems.

My cat, Max, was newly diagnosed and at our visit the vet said his teeth were pretty bad. I also have his sister and hers got really bad so we had to get a cleaning and some teeth pulled. Would you recommend Max get his cleaned while we are still trying to get regulated or wait?
