PMPS 174 - 1.25 units insulin

Not sure about his dosage - did 1.25 yesterday morning when he was 222 but then he dropped to 171 last night so we did 1.0 units, but then this morning he was 342 so I did 1.5 and now he's down to 174. I had my husband give him 1.25 units tonight even though he was below 200 as doing 1.0 unit yesterday apparently wasn't enough to get him through to this morning, I'm interested to see where 1.25 with a pre-shot of 174 puts him in the morning!

Hoping so see George continue to do so well on his BG! AWESOME job!

Thanks  His numbers have been looking a lot better but I'm still really worried about his weight - better numbers and more food and he's not getting any bigger. His sides are still sunken in and I can feel his little rib cage and spine when I pet him. I've had to make myself stop looking up possible symptoms online as it just leads me to awful situations and I really hope he's not in any of them  The vet ran a blood panel when he was diagnosed with his UTI a few weeks ago and nothing dangerous showed up but then again I don't know what they do and don't test for. They told me to bring him back in 3 weeks to see how his weight is, I really hope he gains something back!

I'm taking George to my mom's house this weekend as I don't want to board him while he's so tiny as the last time I had him boarded he didn't eat due to stress and lost half a pound - but my mom lives 5 hours away and I'm nervous that the drive will stress him out just as much as boarding him, but I'm hoping that if I can keep an eye on him I can at least monitor his food intake and bring food I can force feed if necessary. Blech.

Gave 1/4 can of BFF Tuna & Bonito at 5:15a and another 1/4 after checking his BG at 6a so not worried about him dropping as he should begin processing food soon.

He really is doing well with the insulin, but I understand your concern about his weight. He seems to eat enough, right? And he doesn't poop it all out? (he isn't constipated and doesn't have runny stools either?) You have tried some higher calorie of the lower carb choices?

Sue, he eats like a vacuum and he wakes us up every day even though we can't feed him until a certain time, he seems like he's hungry all the time! Also, he's definitely not constipated but he isn't going too much so everything seems normal there.

I was petting him while he was devouring his food just now and I don't know if I'm imagining it but he did seem a tiny bit less bony so maybe he's slowly coming around? I hope so!

As far as trying other food options, so far it's been BFF or nothing, for such a hungry cat he is awfully picky
