We made it!! Woo Hoo!!

Unfortunately though, Garfield learned very quickly what his "testing spot" was and is always jumping up and looking at me like "I'm here...where's my treat?" If I ignore him, he has the sweetest little "mew", which, coming from a cat his size is unexpected, but as I continue to ignore him, he does get louder!

Have to go to the doctor again today. I hadn't mentioned this to very many people, but depending on how things go, I may not be as active as usual, either here or in the group. Several months ago I had a dizzy spell outside and fell backwards, hitting my head on a landscape tie. Had all the symptoms of a concussion, but despite lots of people telling me to go to the hospital, I sure wasn't going to drive myself and if I had an ambulance take me, then I'd be stuck 60 miles from home with no way to get back so I just lived with it. Since then, I've had almost daily headaches and Tuesday, the headache got so bad it made me nauseous followed by a lot of throwing up. I saw my doctor on 12/8 and she ordered an MRI of my brain (this was the same day I went to do my "meet and greet" with Garfield) and on the way home, the doctor's office called me (that's never a good sign). I have a subdermal hematoma with a 3mm midline shift so I am being referred to a neurosurgeon. In the meantime, I do the best I can depending on how I feel, and having Garfield has been a wonderful distraction as well as being a good cuddle buddy. He has surprised me a few times though! I was thinking "senior" and he is about 10, but he has no trouble jumping up on counters, or onto my piano so he can play with the ornaments on the tree (got to put that away sometime soon).

Anyway, Congratulations Garfield! You did it!!!

Congrats Garfield!! Gotta love those “broken” diabetics. :cat:

Chris, please be careful and take care of yourself. I had a family member who had a subdural hematoma after a fall—the brain definitely doesn’t like things being shifted around. Please keep us posted on how you’re doing.
