Has anyone else ever noticed a BG increase after applying Frontline? I put it on last night, as he's gotten several ticks - picked 4 off of him yesterday. I probably waited a little late this year to do it.

We were doing so well and I see no reason he should be over 350 this AM. Other than the Frontline. Not sure what the interaction would be, perhaps there's a skin sensation which causes aggravation. Something chemical would raise BG's seems kind of scary.

I can't remember if I've ever noticed this before. Could be a bounce I guess, as he had good green numbers yesterday and the PMPS lower than AMPS indicator that he could go lower. Will try to ride it out.

Was he stressed with the tick removal or something maybe? That could do it.
Hope he wasnt out eating pancakes with Pippin~!

I have used Frontline and Revolution on Molly and i have not noticed an increase but i always notice that the poor girl loses quite a lot of fur at the spot of application. I attribute it to the fact that she's as fair as a lab rat and has allergies to environmental triggers.

May have solved the higher BGs mystery. He seems a bit constipated. Sat in the box for a while and only got out 3 small ones. He puked about 45 minutes before that, so I let him outside and he ate some grass, which he did not puke up, then came in and pooped. BUt that's not very much for him.

I opened some Wellness, watered it down for him and put some F-biotic on it. I've been a bit lax (no pun intended) on giving him that with his food. Not too worried about the higher fat in the Wellness for a temporary constipation aid. He's been getting 9 Lives food, probably not the best for IBD, which vet is not convinced he has, although the ultrasound radiologist always states it.

Read about constipation in that thread on Health and have decided to treat dehydration first. Did not give fluids this AM because of the Frontline which was applied last night. I decided to wait 24 hours for next fluid admin, which will be in a little bit here. he is lying down looking very uncomfortable.

PMPS 138 ~ 1U

Pretty low because he must not have eaten this afternoon. No surprise there. So I gave him only 1U and fed him 2/3rds his usual amount of raw mix. He ate it without protest.
Gave 75ml fluids and only 1/3rd his dose of Clindamycin. Not sure but maybe the AB has something to do with the constipation. I know ABs mess with gut flora.
