We didn't know how helpful the Furminator would be for Hershey since he's got such short hair. But, given the reviews y'all gave it, thought we'd give it a try. This picture is from yesterday, almost all of the hair is Hershey's. Jessica saw it in the trash and asked if we threw away a pet!

In my house we refer to that as a "Build-a-Cat-Kit". Just add water and pet.... suddenly, there's another cat in the house!!!

Think of how much vacuuming that's gonna save you! I should run out and get one ASAP!!!

I just got mine in so will be able to try it with Sneakers on a regular basis. Since we had just come back from the vet (with a shaved neck for the blood draw) she wasn't feeling to generous with me to sit down and let me comb. But I did get a handful in the three swipes she let me.

Does Hershey have any fur left? Does he look like a lion.
I bought the Furminator when it first came out. I didn't like it. I don't know maybe I wasn't using it right. I was scared I was hurting Baxter. He meowed twice when I used it. Which he never does when I brush him. He is kind of boney. I just use a brush for long hair now.

Hershey still has LOTS of hair, surprisingly enough. I was just amazed at how much it got off of him! He hasn't meowed or anything; they both seem to like it. Maybe it bothered Baxter because he was so bony or maybe it hit a tangle in his long hair? I know there are different sizes, depending on the size of the cat and length of their hair. You might want to give it another shot, Jenn. I'm hoping it helps with hairballs. I just can't imagine they'd have ingested all that hair - cough - cough - gag - gag!!

Heather - I did find (especially initially) that there was a lot of loose hair after brushing with it. Someone (can't remember who) suggested using a regular slicker brush afterwards just to catch the loose hair. But, using it regularly, we don't seem to have that problem as much anymore. Hope it works for you!

I do Copper and my dog every day. They both have the exact same color hair. So when i do them it is a pile of beautiful orange, yellow hair. I'm amazed how much hair comes off of both of them every day. It really does help with fur balls. Haven't had any since starting the brushing over a year ago.

Glad it worked so well on Hershey!

My sister has 2 golden retrievers who are certified visitation dogs. Because they go into nursing homes/etc, they get bathed EVERY week and combed out. Pretty sure she uses the furminator. Anyways, where she lives in Minnesota, there's a lady that spins/weaves pet hair into yarn!!! So she could have a pair of "Yogi" mittens or scarf!

We have one too and it works great, but my guys prefer a regular brush for the "feel good" part. So we use both kinds of brushes. Momma prefers the stripping brush for keeping the floors cleaner
Although we still have plenty, and I do mean PLENTY of fur tumbleweeds here. Crazy how much they shed for "short haired" cats.

I'm glad to hear that someone else has the tumbleweeds. If i miss a day of vacuuming it looks like the "old wild west" around here.

My golden retriever is also a therapy dog and goes into hospitals and schools to do reading programs. SO she is cleaned more often than needed. When she is off duty she always finds a muddy place or cow poop somewhere to roll in. Yuck! She is such a dog!!!

COpper's fur is so silky and i would love to have a scarf made from his fur.
