Hi all,

We've been successfully treating Spook for almost a year and a half now. When she first began insulin, we noticed the fur around her hind quarters was "greasy" and kind of matty in general (pretty gross). It seems to be even worse now, and kind of comes out in tufts. Is this a common occurrence? Does anyone know of anything that can help?

Thanks!
Judy

Sneakers had terrible dandruff that didn't clear up completely until I started feeding her higher quality canned food.

But it wasn't greasy- just dandruff and matted b/c she wasn't grooming in those areas.

Interesting - she just had a checkup at the vet a couple of weeks ago, and he was pretty unconcerned... What kind of food are you feeding?

Keep in mind a vet is going to check for the things you've mentioned or for the type of exam. If you didn't mention it, and it isn't something routinely part of a particular exam type, it may have been overlooked, or considered just part of whatever else is going on.
