Just wondering if it's safe to use Frontline Plus on a diabetic kitty? Hannah was outside for a quick, supervised walk around the yard this afternoon. Next thing I know, she's under the holly bush, rolling around. Next thing she knows, I'm under there with her, trying to get her out. All I could think of was, "Yikes, fleas and ticks!" I know we have ticks in our yard, as I picked one up last spring and ended up on doxycycline.
Anyone here use Frontline Plus on their sugar baby? :cat:

Just a note: check with local pet owners to see how well various flea treatments are working. In my area of Columbus, OH, Frontline Plus is less effective than Advantage II. It can help to knock out the adult fleas with an oral dose of Capstar at the same time as putting on the preventative. You may wish to incorporate flea combing as this also helps remove the fleas and eggs; shake debris into soapy water.

@BJM, before Hannah was diagnosed with diabetes, I always used Advantage II. From our own experience, I thought it was more effective against fleas than Frontline. Now, with ticks so prevalent in our area, I decided to try Frontline Plus, as I don't think Advantage II has any tick protection. Anyway, gave her a Frontline treatment last evening, so here's hoping it will work as well as the package says it will. :cat:

Maybe take a look at the Seresto collars. Relatively new, can be taken off if a problem happens.
Just checked the Seresto collar out online and it sounds like it might have a lot of potential. Hadn't heard of these collars until you mentioned them. Collars used to be so ineffective that they were pretty much just a waste of money. This new innovation sounds like it means business. I'm definitely giving this some thought for when the Frontline Plus wears off in about a month. Thanks for the suggestion!
