? Fritz AMPS 398 Urinating our of litter bix

Hello
Fritz is experiencing senior issues.
His BW came back positive for FIV.
He has been being treated for lower UTI.
My question is despite everything I do he is urinating on throw rugs. His box is always clean and accessible.
He's always gone in it.
My best guess is Congitive Dysfunction.
I now will be putting up a baby gate to confine him while we are gone. He doesn't move around much so it won't bother him.
I'd really like your thoughts. and ideas.

Is he just 12 years old? That seems young to have cognitive dysfunction. No chance of a UTI? My sister had a cat that did the same. She had to make sure nothing was ever ontge ground. :bighug:

Oh geez Deb, sorry about that DX :( FIV can cause frequent urination that leads to going outside the litter box. FIV can cause many issues once it has set-in including secondary infections. Give your boy some scritches for me.

Yes he had UTI in March we treated him with Orbax urine tests were done 4 different times before during and after. He showed uti so we treated him for two weeks and 3 days after end of treating he showed symptoms again so we kept him on 10 more doses urine culture came back clean.
I'm sure FIV might be contributing as Karen mentioned.

I know Karen things keep piling up. He is such a great kitty, I'll keep doing my best. Fritz loved your scrithes. I'm sorry to hear about Moo tons I of scritches.
