1. Can you swim? When did you learn?
Like a fish in water! Started at an early age. Swimming lessons every summer with the Red Cross; went thru the whole program.
2. Preferred venue: river, lake, ocean, swimming pool?
Not so much for the rivers around here. My Aunt has a house on a pristine lake in the Ozarks-love it. Ocean is great, but not for floating/relaxing; plus the sand is a bit annoying at times.
Going to swim in Mom's pool sat for Dad's day--looking forward to it. At least with pools, you know what's in there with you! Although, my fave vacations always involved the beach on some tropical island (that could have something to do with sunsets and umbrella drinks, though)
3. Do you enjoy water skiing/jet skiing, etc?
Both! There's something about skiing first thing in the morning, when the lake is like glass--it makes you feel like you're flying! Jet skis are so much fun, but my bum is always sore afterwards! Never could get the hang of wake-boarding though. And I've never been much of a fan of tubing, personally. But I do love watching the kids bounce around the lake on one, especially when the start squealing with excitement!
4. Do you get freaked out about things that live in the water while you're swimming?
Nah, as long as there are no sharks or jellyfish.
5. Do you always wear a life jacket while out on the water (and not swimming)?
Only while skiing/jet skiing. Or, after fireworks on the 4th when all the drunken boaters are trying to get home on the lake after dark
