I'm off to the wilds of Missouri this weekend for a girls' camping trip. The low tomorrow night is going to be (gulp) 39! We're packing plenty of warm clothes and sleeping bags, and in the event that those fail in their task, we have liquor. Have a great weekend, everyone!

1. Were birthdays a big deal in your house when you were growing up?
2. Which one of your childhood birthday parties do you remember most and why?
3. Were the "big" birthdays (i.e. 21, 30, 40, etc.) hard for you or were they just another birthday?
4. Do you have any goals/tasks that you want to accomplish by a certain birthday? If so, what are they?
5. Do you like the time of year in which you were born, or do you wish it had been a different month/season?

1. Were birthdays a big deal in your house when you were growing up? Oh,my , yes..We would get to pick what ever we wanted for dinner and the flavor cake. Then after dinner, open presents and then cake!!
2.Which one of your childhood birthday parties do you remember most and why? Not so much mine but I do remember my sister's jr high class came over for a party and someone stole her birthday money. We figured out who did it and I threw her shoe in a bush that happened to have a dead animal in it and the shoe was covered in bugs.
3. Were the "big" birthdays (i.e. 21, 30, 40, etc.) hard for you or were they just another birthday? 25 was hard for me being a quarter of a century old and having an 8 yr old son..got over it quickly tho
4. Do you have any goals/tasks that you want to accomplish by a certain birthday? If so, what are they? nah, not really. I am where I want to be.
5. Do you like the time of year in which you were born, or do you wish it had been a different month/season? March!! Brisk and cold

Oh yeah! & half-birthdays too, woohoo!!! Like Peggy, we got to pick where to eat (usually picked I-Hop, or super-duper-yummy Mexican restaurant when I was older), cake & presents at home.

2. Which one of your childhood birthday parties do you remember most and why?
I don't really remember them. Only what's in the pictures people took. My mom made some cool cakes, one year was a violin, which I was really into then.

3. Were the "big" birthdays (i.e. 21, 30, 40, etc.) hard for you or were they just another birthday?
Easy, usually because I have tended to freak out a couple years earlier. 16 was a big deal (driving license), 18 was nice (real adult) and since back then the drinking age was younger (plus it wasn't enforced much anyhow) 21 was a snooze-fest. Freaked out at 25 (1/4 century), 29, and again at 38 & 1/2, lol.

4. Do you have any goals/tasks that you want to accomplish by a certain birthday? If so, what are they?
Since you never know if you'll be around tomorrow, I try to do things without waiting when I can. When I am waiting, I figure I must not care all that much, so why worry about it (or I tell myself, just stop whining & do it girl!). It would be nice to be in a career I really like by say 50 (hopefully sooner though), might go back to school or something to get there, if I could just make up my darn mind on what to pursue, and have confidence that my career path jives with real-life career opportunities. I'd also like to financially be in a position to retire by 65, but that's more a wish than a goal, since saving $$$ is not my strong suit, feels like hoarding, which is anathema (sp?) to me. Gotz to figure that one out, sheesh!

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My b-day is the BEST day of the year!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!
