Hi,

Hope everyone is doing well,

I noticed that my cat is frequently urinating and with little large amount than normal, also noticed that he gum little inflamed , i took her to the Vet and did a quick test , Her BUN was 39 but the phosphorous and critenine was within normal range. The Vest suspect of Bladder inflmation but I am afraid that it is her kidney, she is eating and acting very normal. They did SDMA test for pre kidney to check and urine culture. Waiting for the result but really worry to be CKD. Is there any other reason that make her urine that much, could a bacteria in bladder or UTI cause that or only kidney problem.

Yes, a UTI or bladder infection/inflammation could make a cat pee a lot.
Could be high blood glucose. I don't see a 2020 tab on your spreadsheet.
Could be hyperthyroidism also, HyperT cats drink a lot of water and need to pee it out.

Kidney disease, feline diabetes, hyperthyroidism are the most common causes of excess urination.
Hot weather can make your cat drink more and thus pee more also.

Hi all,

the clinic call me back today for the lab result

they said everything is excellent, even no bacteria or any sign of infection and no early sign of kidney failure, so that was a relief to me but still I do not know why she was urinating that much and frequently, it is now day 10 after the antibiotics and she is doing much better, she is going less to letter box , but still worry about what causing this

At this point, since the kidneys seem normal, UTI has been ruled out, it's the diabetes. The uncontrolled, unregulated diabetes is the cause for the frequent and copious amounts of urine.

I see you now have a 2020 tab on your spreadsheet. Have you been able to get any blood glucose tests done at home?

Keeping our paws crossed for Meme and her continued well being. Hope the use of the litter box continues to go better.

Yes I do test all the time but I did not record the numbers for a while as she was under controlled and doing well, I think that i will go back to record her numbers , the vet said going from high to very low numbers can cause this and as you said an uncontrolled diabetes can lead to that, she had some high and very low numbers for a while but because she sneak some food from other cat plate sometimes

Once you start recording the blood glucose tests on the SS, we'll be able to help you better.
Looking forward to that.

p.s. Your meter probably has a memory function. You could go back through the meter memory to get some of that older testing data.
