i can't verify any of this just yet because I won't have my coupons until Saturday but according to a coupon site I subscribe to we should be able to get a free Accu-chek Nano glucose meter this weekend.

There is supposed to be a $10 coupon in the coupons this coming weekend andddddd CVS is supposed to have that meter on sale for $9.99 which means freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee meters! well, excluding a few cents for tax of course :-)

even if you don't need it yourself you could pick it up and donate it to the newbie kits or dcin or have it for a backup or keep it on hand for someone newly diagnosed in your area or if you have one of those great vets who encourage hometesting you could give it to them to help a client who might be a little short on cash

thank you for this information I am new to the diabetic cat and have received some wonderful information already on this site and just joined today...do you know does the $9.99 start tomorrow?

i'm not sure when their ads start and i just tried to pull it up here on this computer at cvs.com but for some reason it won't load here. may be a setting or something but it's fiance's computer and i'm not real techy so i don't think i should mess around with it. :-) maybe try cvs.com and see if it loads on your computer?

fwiw, Walgreen's has the meter on sale for $9.99 too effective july 29 thru august 4th, in case you don't have a cvs near you or they are out

I'm starting to consider changing meters - I have diabetes so I've been using my ultra one touch for Robbie but even with my insurance the test strips are costing us $32 for 50 and we go thru at least 6 a day which is over $100 per month - just not working out (plus I have to use some for myself) - Wondering if switching to this meter makes sense.
I can get the strips for about $5-$10 less on ebay but timing isn't easy.

if money is tight i'd suggest going with one of Walmart's Relion meters. They are reliable and most economical. Many people here use them and have used them for years. the meter is less than $20 and the strips are about $22-$25 per 50 I believe for the Confirm, Micro, and Ultima. They have a brand new one out called Prime and the strips for them are only $9 for 50

Thanks Cindy I just checked on the free meters and the strips are just as expensive as the ones I'm currently using. I gotta cut some costs - might not be bad for Robbie to have his own meter - I get kinda confused sometimes when looking thru to up date the SS and I see one of my tests (80or 120 or 175 maybe) and think for a second "wow when did he get that?" so maybe I'll just buy a Relion. We don't have a Walmart nearby however so that could be an issue. I'll look into it and thank you

I have two coupons, plus both CVS and Walgreens nearby. Can you or anyone speak to whether FDMB kits or DCIN needs these meters? I can probably get my hands on many more coupons.

It looks like Walmart will ship the strips for free with a $45 order so you could possibly order 2 boxes at a time if you do not have one near you. They are $36 for a box of 100 strips.

I picked one of these "free" Nano's yesterday at Walgreens. My intentions were that if my meter somehow pooped out I would have a quick backup available. However, it didn't even come with any starter strips and the strips are kind of pricey. I saw $34/50 on Amazon. I can pay $36 for 100 of the Relion strips. Perhaps a better bet is to buy a backup Relion and an extra battery. Bummer.

Rebecca does not need meters at this time. She does need test strips, though. I don't know what brand of test strips she needs but anything she can get would be much appreciated.

I just sent a PM to DCIN to see if they are in need of meters. I got one of the AccuChek Nano meters last week when it was free after the coupon.
