So after all the work over the past 3 months it seems like Nala has finally settled into .4 units, twice a day. She's been staying mostly in the mid to high 200s . She was running higher than I'd like for awhile there so I got some U-100 syringes and did the conversion. I dropped her back to .2 units for a few cycles and that was in the high 300s so I increased her up to .4 and she seems to be doing great. She does go a little into the 300s on .4 units but if I go any higher her curve gets too steep and she starts to bounce up into the higher 300s. So far over the past few days with the .4 units she's had a smooth curve and doesn't bounce for her PMPS. Some of the tests have been missing over the past couple of days because I've been working 70 hours this week on a special project at work but I've been testing as much as possible. I really like the U-100 syringes because I feel like it gives me a little finer control over her dose. That being said I have about 40 left over U-40 syringes that I would be happy to mail to someone who needs them, for free. I have the original box and they are in little packages of 10 needles per so they're all wrapped up and haven't been opened. If you need them, please PM me and let me know. All I need is your name and address. It'll be on a first come basis and I will ship them out Wednesday :)

I am glad the bounces have smoothed out and you like the U100 needles.

The 200s look like a good regulated preshot number. It'd be good to see what her nadirs are and whether they have room to drop. If so, you can think about pushing a little bit more. If your goal is OTJ, then the plan is to move from regulated numbers into lower ranges, at a pace both you and the cat's bounces are comfortable with. If the nadirs are in safe ranges, I'd encourage you to push a little and see if the numbers both for preshot (with data, you can lower the pre shot number to 180 or so) and nadir, drop.

Well fortunately I have a five day weekend coming up, starting Wednesday so I can get multiple readings over each day. My goal would be OTJ but do you really think its possible? My vet always had me under the impression that this is for life and there's no recovery.

Remission is possible. Not all cats make it, but check out the remission thread...or search OTJ in any of the forums. Cats CAN go into remission. I've seen it happen plenty of times since I joined up.
