Hello!
Juliet and i have found a great new vet and though she's not touchy feely and pretty frank, I've learned more in 10 minutes then i have all month with a vet and she even encourages questions. Best part she works worth staff who also works with plenty of diabetic cats and knows a specialist she consults with.
we did test the relion prime gluecometer with the alpha track and found that there was a near 70pt difference with alpha track coming in art 367, she mentioned that it can vary from 30-100 pts at any given time. I was super worried about the numbers id gotten earlier but she said that it was encouraging how steadily they seemed to be making their way down without insulin. I was given the choice to either start dosing with caution or give it another 4 weeks with a much stricter diet and see if there are any improvements to possibly offset dosing. She was also worried that dosing now could lower her too far and could offset any recovery she was making currently. I chose to wait another 4 weeks encouraging more exercise and tighter food control. While I'm happy with this decision, i also feel that maybe I'm avoiding the insulin issue a little bit. Though, honestly, i thought 367 a bit low for all that vet and dog stress.

in their notes as well. Took me three days and an argument to get a copy of those from old vet.
