Noticed it at lunch time At night I always scratch right there before sitting at the sofá it wasn’t there yeaterday
No just there It can’t be the food they have both been eating the same food going on 3 years and yes she’s been scratching it I trimmed her nails again a little bit agoAny other bumps around the chin, her neck? These are very common places to see this kind of an allergic reaction.
Don’t have any and no car and $. I’m a mess lately, I touched the rad with some disinfecting liquid I was reading on cats acne it looks clean a bit bumpy no blood or any more anywhere her body I inspected it all, hopefully it will go away as fast as it showed up if not I can only wait till the end of the month to pay check to take her to the vet I took a photo of the medicine you said to tell the vet I cannot be rolled up in a big vet bill I do not have Zirtex I have hust plain allergy pills they are mildI doubt it is the food. It’s good that you trimmed her nails. Do you think that you could put some nail caps on her back nails? I have had to do that on occasion, but it won’t address the allergic reaction.
That’s what I have the generic could I take 1/2 of the tiny pill and dilute it in water and give her that?It can be generic Zyrtec. So it’s not that expensive. Not all allergy medications are appropriate for cats. Feline acne usually presents as a bunch of little black dots frequently seen under the chin and is not usually associated with a lot of itching or scabby, bumpy areas.
. What is the exact name of your allergy medicine? Is it cetirizine? Can you send me a photo of the label? That’s what I have the generic could I take 1/2 of the tiny pill and dilute it in water and give her that?
I’ll try that, They have a bowl with no scratchy sides with the bottle at top I clean it every day though neither really don’t drink much out of it that’s why I put 1 tsp of water in each mealWhat kind of bowls do Corky and Coco eat from? I hope they are not plastic.
I would tryZyrtec as @Suzanne & Darcy suggested. 1/2 a 10 mg tablet can be given daily. I give 1/2 a Zyrtec to one of my cats daily who has allergy issues.
And maybe a collar might help you keep her feet and nails away while it heals.
I have stainless steal I will make the change right nowI was asking about the food bowls. You should use stainless steel or porcelain or glass and not plastic which is associated with feline acne.
Yes, that is generic Zyrtec. Thank you for confirming that. You can give her one half a tablet once per day. It may help. It won’t hurt her. I would not mix with water as this will taste horrible. I would just pill her.
Thank you guys following everything to the letter bowl changed already on my way to the pill, what would I do without you guys is beyond meYes, that is generic Zyrtec. Thank you for confirming that. Will it maker too sleepy? She took it like a champ, she learned from his brother CorkyThank you guys following everything to the letter bowl changed already on my way to the pill, what would I do without you guys is beyond me![]()
I think it depends upon the cat. I know Bron’s cat does really well on Zyrtec and it has helped her a lot with allergies. Will it maker too sleepy? She took it like a champ, she learned from his brother Corky
If you think it really is acne, you would see the black specks on her chin. It can be cleaned. You can even use benzoyl peroxide on it (human acne med) but I don’t recommend it because it will bleach out whatever fabrics it comes into contact with (just like it does with people if you get it on towels or clothing.) Let us know how Coco does.
It looks quite good this morning she’s not scratching her chin any longer is not bumpy any more just red, looking goodI hope it will go away!
