Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. Some of you may remember seeing posts about Screechy. Well, he had to be moved from the foster home he was in and was running out of time to find a place to go. I decided to bring him to my house until a more permanent foster or forever home could be found. He's a super sweet black cat, very friendly, playful, and even knows how to sit on command!

Screechy came here a couple of days ago. I know very little about diabetes but have been doing some reading. I have to say I'm a little bit overwhelmed, but decided to just take one day at a time. My first step was gaining confidence to do ear sticks. It actually went very well the first morning he was here and I was able to do it by myself. Big relief! His AMPS was very high 479, which I'm assuming could be due to stress from being moved (even though he seemed calm and like he adapted quickly). His PMPS was 345. This morning AMPS was 348. I'm the third foster he's been with; his first foster started a spreadsheet so I have included that in my signature line (I hope). I am feeding him a mid-day meal as he is always hungry. Right now I'm only checking BG twice a day until I get acclimated to all this, so please bear with me.

He does get monthly B12 injections and is on probiotic as well as fish oil for possible IBD.

Let me know if there is any other information that would be useful to you. I'd like to get him settled in for a week before I even think about adjusting doses if you think that's what needs to be done. And if there is any advice on how to find a diabetic cat a home, please share. He's a sweet boy and really needs someone who can give him more individual attention than I can (I also foster dachshunds and have 2 fosters plus my own 2 dogs and 1 cat...so needless to say, I'm spread pretty thin right now. I just didn't want to see the poor boy have to go to boarding. Thank you!

He is on Lantus insulin, 1 unit twice a day, and is eating Fancy Feast classic. I give him one can at 9 a.m., one can at 3 p.m., and one can at 9 p.m.

You are very nice to help Screechy. Thank you.

I am unable to access your spreadsheet. The link opens but is says I need to Request Access.

I just changed the privacy setting. Hopefully you can view it now. It reflects both of the other foster homes he was in. Thanks.
