Quick question.
Is it okay to give my diabetic cat feline fortiflora?

I've added a new flavor of Weruva food to Kai's diet and although I introduced it slowly to him, it has still upset his tummy a little bit. He has always had a finicky tummy and it has gotten worse with age. We have 16 year old dog that also has a sensitive tummy, and fortiflora is a must with her. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a bad experience with giving there sugar kitty Fortiflora in the past?

Best Wishes!

Update: he hated the FortiFlora... I should have known lol. He is such a brat about his food. I am now trying Proviable DC, which is supposed to have no taste or smell to it. Also not as expensive.

Interested in trying this -- lately, my dude has been rejecting his go-to foods with occasional vomiting and diarrhea. Is there a specific brand / variety that is recommended?

My vet said the Purina FortiFlora was a great probiotic but it could be a hit or miss with some kitties that are picky eaters. It's supposed to have a really strong smell and flavor to it. So it might help entice your little guy into eating.

I wanted to try it because my dog takes the canine Purina FortiFlora, because she is 16 and also has a sensitive stomach. It works great for her! Unfortunately, Kai did not approve of the taste. I poured this on top of his food the other night and according to him I ruined his entire dinner. But I wouldn't let his opinion matter, he is a picky eater to begin with.

I'm so glad my vet gave us some sample packets of the Purina Feline FortiFlora before I purchased a $30 box off Amazon. She also gave some samples of this Proviable DC, in case the FortiFlora didn't work out. It not as expensive as the FortiFlora, which is nice. It comes in pill capsules that you can pull apart and sprinkle on their food. It is supposed to be tasteless and scentless. So far it has passed Kai's inspection and his majesty will allow it. As for the results of the probiotic, It seem to be doing the trick. I have noticed an improvement is his bowel movements. However, he has only been taking it for a few days so i'm sure it needs some time to really take effect.

I'm not sure if your little dude is a picky eater like my guy but it couldn't hurt to reach out to your vet to see if they have some samples they could give/sell you before you purchase a whole box of probiotics.

Here are the amazon links if you would like to check these two brands out.
