forgot to mix insulin

So about a half hour after giving Misty her insulin (ProZinc) I realized that I forgot to roll it in my hands to mix it.

I called the vet in a panic, and the tech told me it would be fine, that it was just as if I had given her a reduced dose. This, of course, happens after an accidental skipped dose and a furshot - all just this week! And it's only Wednesday...

I plan on monitoring her closely. Anyone want to chime in with experiences of forgetting to mix their insulin? I'm hoping all the handling the vial went through before I measured out the dose helped get it mixed up a bit at least...

I think you'll be OK. You're right that the handling as you prepared the dose likely mixed it a little bit. We all make booboos of one sort or another periodically and kitty survives!

Haha, it's true, she's doing just fine! 122 at +5 and after a stressful car ride, too. I think I need to finally start sleeping so I can stop having so many of these booboos.

So glad Misty is fine! Taking care of our kitties is like riding a bike, you fall some times until you can find your balance. Misty is a lucky girl having you take care of her so carefully.

Aww, thank you! I needed to hear that today. I’ve been feeling really bad for messing up so much with her insulin lately!
