I know I saw somewhere that you should not feed seafood flavor canned everyday. Can someone tell me why or direct me to a post that explains this or link?
One - fish can be an allergen to cats
Two - fish typically contains higher phosphorus levels and for cats with kidney, CRF etc issues - this can aggravate those problems
if you want more information about fish - check out DR. Lisa's website - www.catinfo.org
Fish contains heavy metals that can cause permanent damage to the brain and to other organs. For that reason people are advised to limit fish to no more than two meals a week.
Some cats get hooked on fish and will pull a hunger strike until they get it. Diabetic cats must eat, so dependence on any one kind of food is to be avoided.
