Hi there! I am still pretty new to the forum and I was hoping to pick some brains about new food options that I would like to start my kitty on.

Currently, Kai is on a mixed wet and dry diet of Royal Canin Glycobalance, which I have recently discovered is not as great as it should be. I would like to start transitioning him to a much lower carb all wet diet. I am currently looking at Tiki Cat and Weruva options. You can check out some of the options I have picked out based on the food chart that was sent to me when I became a member of the site of few weeks ago. I have added a separate tab for food research to his glucose spreadsheet, feel free to take a look at it.

Kai is currently running high right now, so I figured now would be a great time to start transitioning. Before we jump in, I was hoping to get a few opinions from you guys on Tiki Cat and Weruva, or if you have other suggestions.

Thanks,
Maddie & Kai

That's a great list Maddie thank you for posting this information. I have tried the Bff flavors and my cat unfortunately did not like any of these flavors. Getting ready to try Weruva Paw Lickin Chicken and the Tiki Cat Puka Puka. He currently eats Fancy Feast BUT they are high in Phosphorus. Hopefully some more members will share some suggestions because I'm tired of looking at 30 different cans of cat food every time i'm in the store and just end up leaving with FF.:) Good luck I hope your kitty loves a few of the those on your list.

I only feed Howie Weruva. There are some good options in the slide and serve pates that are low carb and low phosphorous too! Low phosphorous is considered under 250mg. He refuses to eat Tiki Cat!

I feed sam fancy feast turkey and giblets. Cans are single meal sized, cost me 90 cents canadian at walmart per can.

difference between 20% carb dry food and the one i give sam (think its under 5%) was massive. 3 units of insulin 2x per day dropped to 1, now he doesn’t need it after a year of wet food only and monitoring/lantus.

I’m on a budget and have been feeding my cats Tiny Tiger poultry flavors from Chewy. They take to it better than Fancy Feast pates but I rotate those in as well as Kirkland brand pates. But for sure Tiny Tiger is their favorite. I’d like to focus on low phosphorus next but we’re still new at this and transitioning to low carb has been the priority. Low carb + low phosphorus is difficult on a budget.

If this calculator is correct, TT is only 1.5% carbs. Kirkland is about 5% I think.
