FYI: After doing much research and testing, I have discovered that my cat's glucose rises about 6 hours after eating Fancy Feast Classic Savory Salmon Feast. 1/3 can can raise his normally 100s test numbers into the 200s and larger amounts can raise the test numbers into the 300s to over 600. This does not mean do not feed this product - just be aware of what might be causing your cat's elevated test numbers. After eating another flavor (such as beef and chicken) his test numbers will return to lower numbers after 6 to 12 hours.

For those of you who doubt this is possible - remember you do not know where the fish come from, if farm bred , we do not know what they were being fed, and if wild - the waters are being very polluted with all kinds of stuff which they may intake directly or in their food supply.

Good luck.

If it has a higher protein : fat ratio, it may reflect the different rate of breakdown between protein and fat respectively.

Note: cats can break off the amino part of the protein molecule, leaving behind the carb portion - its how cats can get useable energy from their protein sources, in the absence of much carbohydrate content.
