I saw the chat on catinfo.org about the cat foods but does it matter if the fat is higher than the protein? Is it better if it is more protein than fat? I am currently feeding Friskies Classic Pate Turkey and Giblets Dinner but I am going to get the Special Diet Turkey and Giblets Dinner as it is lower in carbohydrates.

I feed mine the Friskies Classic pate Turkey and Giblets Dinner, sometimes the other Poultry flavors when I can't get the T&G. Just a note: a cat can make carbohydrates from both fat and protein, when needed.

No one has a need for a special urinary tract formula ... and I don't like the smell.

If your cat has had problems with blockages, you may find reading this section on Cat Info helpful.
And I'd add a tablespoon or two of water to each meal. Ample hydration helps flush out the minerals which cause blockages.

People with cats with crystals/stones or in failure feed the Friskies Special Diet Turkey & Giblets because it's lower in phosphorus than the regular Friskies Turkey & Giblets

Low phosphorus is what you're looking for as well as adding as much water to the diet as possible to keep the kidneys flushed out
