Fluffy's new day

Fluffy blood level this morning was 552. Any advice on how much I should give him.? I was thinking 1u.

He was much better to handle this morning.

I think 1u is good. With the day you had yesterday, you should really start over at 1u, try to get a couple tests in, and we'll go from there. He is especially high because his system is trying to recover from going so low yesterday. You don't want to react to that and shoot a higher dose. You did a great job yesterday!!!

Agreed with 1 unit. Try to get one test in midcycle so we see how he is doing.

I saw you posted in Health also. Your PZI dose questions are best answered here. Questions like food and allergies -and any emergency - are best posted in Health.

No worries- you'll get it. This board has several forums so it is confusing.

I would agree with the 1u as well, Rose.

I would also say that posting on Health is a very good idea if that is where you would like to post. There are many people here on this board who are not only very aware of how to dose post hypo but how to suggest dosing for PZI specifically.

Hope this goes much easier for you after your horrible day yesterday.

ETA - Please keep a watch on his BG today - I know you will :-D

Rose I was so happy to see your post this am and your #'s report. Since you are east coast and many here are west coast or mid west if you post on health as well with the definite request to check you spread sheet please, than you won't miss any response time...
i think that's what happened yesterday with the am timing.
i also think 1u was a good dose. and now in a day or so we might want to get a curve. see how his whole day goes.
a test every 2 hours. 2, 4, 6. 8 is enough.. this is one of the benefits of hometesting as the vet always wants to do this if your using insulin and it's not cheap.
Lori
and tomtom too!

re: posting on health, did'nt read other's thoughts on that above. i suppose if health folks are over here looking for you that is best...however if you don't get a response before your ready to shoot a question on health WITH THE CAVEAT TO CHECK YOUR SS is always the next best thing.

Hi Rose,
I'm new here so I'll refrain from giving advice. I just wanted express my support. My Steve hypo'd on Thursday night and I know how scary it is to go through a hypo then deciding how to proceed in the days after it happened. Good luck to you and fluffy!
