Fluffy not doing well

Fluffy has not been well the last couple of days. I tried to test his urine and it was light not dark, I hope I was doing it right. I used a litter box with gravel and then stuck the strip on top of the urine.Today he is hardly moving and is breathing shallow. He fell down a couple of times. All day he has been hiding and will not come out and not eating. I read that they hide when it is time for them to die. His numbers have not been too bad. I just checked it and it was 203. This morning it was 343 and I gave him 2 units. I have been giving him 2 units for weeks.

I would get him to the vet asap. Remember how awful he was before and it turned out to be a UTI, which was fixable with medication. Often they seem very sick and it is not as bad as you think.

I put small plastic bathroom cups around in various corners of the litter box to get a urine sample from my UTI kitty. MOst of the time he rings a cup so that I have a nice sample to test with the strips. For my UTI Himalayan who died at age 19, I would cover the litter with plastic wrap and she would go on the plastic wrap. The kitties I have now thought the litter box was out of order when I tried that. I just recently found that the plastic cups work like a charm. Wish I had known about that earlier. Hope you kitty gets better.

Am so sorry Fluffy is not feeling well & having such a rough time.
I saw you were having problems with him eating. Not sure if you still are...very typical if he's not feeling well. Hank was very sick at DX and took some time for his appetite to return. He just was not much interested in food. Because we were trying so many new foods out it was hard to know if he didn't like that particular food, was craving his dry so nothing else would do or just didn't feel well so wasn't interested in eating period. Probably a combination.
I probably also pulled him off dry too quickly all at once as opposed to proper transitioning. I wanted on LC canned & well ASAP. But he needed to eat.
And yes, lots of foods were wasted. I had buffets out for him. But that didn't go on for too long. And one thing that seemed to help some which you might try is to add a little water to the canned & then WARM IT UP a little (few seconds in microwave). I did this and actually TOOK IT TO HIM ...wherever he was a few times a day. I put some on a spoon and would coax bites out of him periodically. He didn't want to bother getting up to come to his food..didn't feel well & just wanted to sleep. So we came to him a few times a day.
I allowed a tiny amount of Evo dry along with the canned in the very beginning..and then used it crumbled on top of the wet (maybe 5-10 pieces) to entice him to eat whatever food he wasn't interested in, and it helped. Then we got rid of the dry altogether within just a week or two.
He got over his loss of appetite ulimately, (big time) and very soon was completely happy eating LC canned only.
It is so hard not knowing what to do, is it the food, the insulin..you just have to go through some trial and error. it is so hard to see our babies sick but he knows you are trying to help him feel better.
Keep us posted.
