Hi i noticed summer scratching and i found 2 fleas on her. She has scratched enough to rip her skin open on her side. I put some neosporin on it and put on her baby onesie to keep her from ripping her skin any further. I have gave her a comfortis flea pill before BUT not since she has been on lantus. Is it safe to give a flea pill along with lantus? I don't like giving her anything like that but she doesn;t need to keep scratching to rip herself open so bad to have stitches again. Thanks

I've not used a pill for fleas, but I have used Revolution, and Advantage II on my TiTI, who has diabetes, when the dogs have introduced fleas into our home.
Naturally, one doesn't want to use any such poisons ever. However, I think getting rid of Summers' fleas takes priority now.

I use capstar tablets when they get fleas between Revolution doses. No problems. My vet says I can't blame anything on the capstar tablets---they are very harmless to the cats (but not to the fleas).

We have used revolution and frontline plus over the years. Titan has never been bothered by them plus both topical meds are for more than just fleas .
