Flea meds and Injection site

Quick question. We think our dog may have brought fleas into the house (husband is lazy with giving his his monthly dose and our yard is SURROUNDED by dogs) and my cat who is obviously fragile right now is allergic and I need to give him the flea medicine, but it's supposed to go right where we have been injecting him with his Insulin (neck).

Is it safe to apply the flea medication? It's the only place he can't lick it.

You could try a different injection site for the insulin while the flea meds are at work. I would not give insulin in the same spot as the flea medication was given.

Do you think I should try a flea collar for the time being? I am worried he will break out and need a steroid shot and that is probably what got us here in the first place.

I know a few members have discussed different flea treatments..pros and cons and which ones work best. You might want to start a new post with a title such as "Which flea treatment is safest for diabetic kitties?" and use the "?" icon from the drop down on the left of the title section. Hopefully those who have used different flea meds will give their opinions.

Thanks I have a call into my Vet to see what they recommend. I just thought I would see what others thought.
